Here's how my blog got started a year ago.

This is my first post, written on my 89th birthday, December 30, 2009. My daughter, Kris, and my two granddaughters, Adrian and Kate, are visiting from Indiana over their winter break. We get to celebrate Christmas, my birthday, and New Year's together.

Kris set up this blog for me after I mentioned that, as I approached my 90th birthday, I would like to capture some thoughts and beliefs I've pondered over these years and share them with my family and friends.

This photo was taken in June, 1944, during WWII while I was taking R&R in Asmara, Eritrea, which borders the Red Sea on the northeast side of Africa.

I'm SO impressed with this new venture for you and I SO look forward to reading more and more of your written words.
When I got my first computer years ago, you and I spent many many hours exchanging emails and I treasure all of the wisdom, insight, strength and love you shared with me.
