This is a photo of me and my two granddaughters.  Adrian baked the cake for me and Katie iced and decorated it.

It's been a very happy holiday season for me.  The girls and their mother have been with me for Christmas, my birthday and tonight we will bring in the New Year!

It's been a year now since I started Nonagenarian Non-Sense.  Today, December 30, 2010, is my 90th birthday.

Here's how my blog got started a year ago.

This is my first post, written on my 89th birthday, December 30, 2009.   My daughter, Kris, and my two granddaughters, Adrian and Kate, are visiting from Indiana over their winter break.  We get to celebrate Christmas, my birthday, and New Year's together.

My profile photo, sitting in my den with Adrian and Kate, was taken this morning. [note:  new picture taken 12/30/10]

Kris set up this blog for me after I mentioned that, as I approached my 90th birthday, I would like to capture some thoughts and beliefs I've pondered over these years and share them with my family and friends.

I invite you to join in my journey.

This photo was taken in June, 1944, during WWII while I was taking R&R in Asmara, Eritrea, which borders the Red Sea on the northeast side of Africa.
